Statutory mental health services are delivered through a partnership between health services (the NHS) and social care services (local authorities), and in Kent this partnership is the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, commonly abbreviated to KMPT.

They provide a wide range of services for those experiencing mental health problems. For adults, the usual point of contact will be through their Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).
