What’s Local?
In this area of the website we have listed how you can get information on what is happening locally, as well as where to connect with services and get support if you, or someone you care for, experiences mental health issues. You can also read and share your experiences here.
If you want to find some suggestions for getting more active or finding out what clubs and activities are available locally to you as well as how to connect or even volunteer, go to our Five Ways to Wellbeing section which you can access by clicking here.
1. Live It Well Blogs & LPMG’s. Get connected locally, follow your local Live It Well Blog, the blog contains details of information and events that are happening in the area local to you. The blogs also contains meeting information on the LPMG’s (Locality Planning and Monitoring Group’s) that are happening in your area (excluding Medway). 2. Carers. If you are caring for someone with mental health needs you will find details of your local support group here, we have also listed additional information and support on carers services both nationally and based in Kent and Medway, click here for more information.
3. Service User Forums. If you use, or have used, mental health services in Kent or Medway ,we have listed here where you can get more locally based support as well as getting more involved in decisions that affect mental health services. If you want to learn how to get involved locally click here.
4. The Ashford Live It Well Centre is a multi-agency hub providing mental health services and support to people living in Ashford and the surrounding areas. To find out what services operate from the centre, how to access it and whats on click here.
