What is the Ashford Live It Well Centre?
The Ashford Live It Well Centre is a multi-agency hub providing mental health services and support to people living in Ashford and the surrounding areas.
mcch, KCA, Shaw Trust, CRI and the CMHT all operate within the Live It Well centre, providing services that optimise health and wellbeing for people accessing primary and secondary care services all in one location, in other words the Ashford Live It Well Centre is a ‘one stop shop’ for people with mental health needs and their carers.
The Ashford Live It Well Centre creates a pathway to health and wellbeing through a single point of entry. They support people to:
- access local community activities
- establish and re-establish social networks and increase social inclusion
- access clinical provision through the Community Mental Health Team
- access to Psychological Therapies through Primary Care
- attain and retain employment
- develop skills and build confidence
- increase overall health and wellbeing
What Services are Based at the Live It Well Centre Ashford?
mcch – mcch provides an informal community service offering emotional and practical support, help with managing everyday life, and access to activities in the community at a level to suit you. Click here for more information about mcch.
KCA – KCA provide a psychological therapy service offering therapy in GP surgeries and in a range of community settings for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health needs. Click here for more information about KCA or click here for more information about psychological therapies.
Kent and Medway Partnership Trust (KMPT) – KMPT provide secondary mental health services to adults who may be experiencing moderate to severe mental health needs. How Can you Access the Live It Well Centre?
Referrals to the Live It Well centre in Ashford can be made by both primary and secondary care services including GP’s, Community Mental Health Teams or you can contact the centre directly:

Whats On at the Live It Well Centre Ashford?
- Music – funded project around helping people with MH issues with music as therapy. There are booked studio sessions as well as access to instruments etc on site.
- Poetry – runs both at the LIW and library
- Photography – well attended, new subjects, facilities to print finished photos etc.
- Women’s Group – activities both win the community and on site, including presentations around self confidence and motivation.
- Marketing and Fundraising – an opportunity for our SU’s and carers to input into our marketing material, develop new leaflets, newsletters. help write funding bids and look for fundraising opportunities within the community locally.
- IT – one to one sessions in accredited IT courses. IT buddies on hand for assistance.
- Cafe and Tea Bar – skills for preparing the cafe item s for sale, budgeting, shopping and ;learning about good customer service. Basic food hygiene courses can be accessed by SU’s and supported by our staff.
- Gardening – run by SU’s, for all levels of skill and ability
- Art – run by Volunteers – as above
- Healthy Living Activities – Football, table tennis, walks, food etc. access to all facilities at local leisure centres supported by staff when required. we also have access to health trainers who visit the LIW regularly.
