A client working with our Employment Support Service has got a full-time job after looking and applying vigorously for over a year! After all his hard work and working with our team he finally found paid employment with one of the most recognised steel works employers in Canterbury.

Here is what Seb has to say:

“After two years of really constantly looking for and applying for jobs, I finally got a full time job in January this year. Employment Support Services at Chaucer Homecare really helped. I did the Young Persons Group which helped build my confidence by meeting new people and getting me out of the house. I also completed a Life Coaching course with Carl to help keep me motivated in looking for work and I was applying for up to 20 jobs a week. I was really surprised when I got the job after having many interviews that led nowhere. The job has really helped me with confidence and skills, by using old ones I thought I’d lost and learning new ones. Also I’m meeting new people and feel like I’m actually doing something worthwhile by helping my colleagues in my team by spreading the workload. I also feel I can be in touch with old friends as I don’t feel so embarrassed by not doing anything or having a job. Now when people ask me what I do, I actually have something to contribute.”
