SureCare East Kent are delivering a Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards course, free of charge to professionals, associated to supporting individuals with mental health.
The course is to be delivered on the 13th August 2014, 10am-2pm. At the Canterbury Umbrella Centre, St Peters Place, CT1 2DB. Attendance is limited to 50 spaces, therefore requests for a place are to be confirmed no later than the 6th August 2014 at 12pm.
Topics to be discussed;
- Current legislation, policy and procedures
- The assessment process
- What is meant by ‘Best Interests’
- What protection is available for decision makers
- Understand the limits of restraints
- Understand the roles of the various professionals involved
Successful professionals gaining a position at this training course will leave with an up to date knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards responsibilities and a certificate of attendance by SureCare is provided.
