SureCare East Kent are delivering a Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards course, free of charge to professionals, associated to supporting individuals with mental health.

The course is to be delivered on the 13^th August 2014, 10am-2pm. At the Canterbury Umbrella Centre, St Peters Place, CT1 2DB. Attendance is limited to 50 spaces, therefore requests for a place are to be confirmed no later than the 6th August 2014 at 12pm.

Topics to be discussed;

• Current legislation, policy and procedures
• The assessment process
• What is meant by ‘Best Interests’
• What protection is available for decision makers
• Understand the limits of restraints
• Understand the roles of the various professionals involved

Successful professionals gaining a position at this training course will leave with an up to date knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards responsibilities and a certificate of attendance by SureCare is provided.
