Training to include disabled people in sport Add to Your Support

Kent Sport are offering low cost training for those who support disabled people within the community to develop the skills and confidence to include disabled people in sporting activities. You don’t need to be from a sport organisation or background to access this training.

The training is aimed at individuals and organisations that support disabled people of all ages within the community, including:

  • support workers, including those in day, community and faith centres
  • parents
  • carers
  • healthcare professionals
  • volunteers
  • community-based groups and organisations

What does the training involve?

The AK4A Inclusive Community Training consists of a three hour practical workshop complemented by online learning that will support the workshop participants before and after the training.

During the face to face workshop participants will:

  • learn practical tools to support inclusive delivery
  • explore creative ideas to support disabled people to take part in physical activity and sport
  • complete a workbook that will support your activity sessions going forward
  • learn about local disability sport opportunities for participants, leaders, volunteers and coaches

Cost: £10 per person

How to secure your place: Bookings are now being taken through Kent Sports online system. To book your place visit the Kent Sport Coaching website, search for the Active Kids for All workshop and then enter your details to secure your place. Payment can be made through this system.
