Those born in 1946 reach 65 this year – the age that used be the legal ‘Normal Retirement Age’, a time when some of the many pressures of early life have disappeared and people look forward to a more relaxed lifestyle. Older age can also be a time of growing sadness and periods of depression for some. The Mental Health Foundation want to change this. They are being funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to explore how this big generation - who’ve lived through massive social change – can experience a mentally healthy old age.
They want to hear the views and opinions of the baby boomer generation - those born between 1946 and 1955. This is a unique opportunity to tell of your experiences of life and to make your voices heard for the future.
Join the project and help improve mental health in later life. The research will be used to help individuals, groups, policy-makers, service providers and business understand what can benefit, improve and protect the mental health and wellbeing of the baby boomer 1946-1955 generation.
