This site has been put together by local organisations and individuals in Kent who want to find new ways to promote emotional wellbeing in Kent. It is currently hosted by Sevenoaks Area Mind. We want to assist people to achieve their goals in life, whatever they are, in connected communities and the places where they live.
We hope you will find a lot of hints, tips and suggestions for activities. Also, access to local information that will help you make these connections – just put in your postcode!
Our beliefs
We believe that most of us need friends and suport to get by in life. Also, that exercise, healthy eating and meaningful occupation all help to keep us happy and well. So we want this site to help anyone to find resources in their local local area that will do those things. We have also included lots of lists of tips and tricks that people use to keep well – like the mental health equivalent of “5 ways to mental wellbeing“.
Answers are sometimes in the simple things we can all do to improve our health; and our relationship with the world around us.
Who we are
The hosting for this site is provided by Sevenoaks Area Mind, with ideas from a wide range of people. These include Thanet User Forum, Kent and Medway NHS, social care Partnership Trust and Rethink’s Sahayak project.
We are also grateful for the work of Louise Jessup and others. Funding to help develop the site has come from Kent County Council’s Commisioning and Contracting team for Mental Health. All the design and technical stuff has been done by Nick Power.
Please see the ‘links’ section for more information about is who is involved in this website.
