Catch 22 supports care leavers with the transition from the care system to adulthood and independent living, including accessing suitable and secure accommodation. Kent 16+ operates a supported lodging scheme for young people whereby they can live within a family-type environment whilst acquiring the independent living skills and emotional resilience necessary to enable them to live independently. The carers within this scheme are approved and receive comprehensive training and on-going support and supervision from the dedicated supported accommodation officers within the service.

NAPAC is the National Association for People Abused in Childhood. NAPAC is there to help adults come to terms with what abuse suffered in childhood. Millions of adults in the UK today carry with them the painful memories of abuse they suffered when they were children. The Richmond Fellowship provide a range of housing related support to enable individuals with mental health problems to develop and maintain independence in the community. Their services include:

• Residential – our care homes and 24hr hour supported housing schemes provide round the clock support for individuals, often as a step down from a stay in hospital or as an alternative to being admitted to hospital
• Supported living – we provide accommodation as a registered social landlord with staff available to help people develop their independent living skills while our floating support workers provide similar help in people’s own homes
• Community-based – we provide support on a group or individual basis to help individuals access social networks and peer support, and engage in everyday mainstream opportunities
• Employment – we support people who are recovering from mental health problems return to paid employment, voluntary work or training and help employees with mental health problems, including stress, anxiety and depression, to stay in work.

This is a short term supported accommodation service based in Sevenoaks, for adults with dual diagnosis (mental health and drug/alcohol issues). Tonbridge and Malling Visiting Support Service

This service provides support to 10 service users with mental health issues in the Tonbridge and Malling area, to maintain their tenancy within rented accommodation and to continue their recovery journey. The service is built upon a strong a partnership between Russet Homes who provide the accommodation that the service users rent, Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council who support the referrals and RF who provide the support to the service users. Thanet Community Based Service

The service promotes social inclusion for people with mental health difficulties by supporting them to access group or 1:1 support depending on what support they require. Most of the support available is provided through a wide variety of group sessions which take place in various locations across Thanet and Sandwich. These groups include those that focus on social opportunities, physical health, learning a new skill or managing specific mental health issues (e.g. depression, hearing voices etc). Rise Kent is peer centred group that aims to support female survivors of sexual violence. Rise Kent aims to connect people to others who have experienced similar situations. Rise Kent has no waiting lists and the service is free which means that recovery and healing can be taken at an individual’s own pace.

RISE Kent provides a range of techniques with the aim of helping you through your journey. Rise Kent offers a safe, non- judgmental and hopefully comfortable place where you are able to share your experience and feelings with people who appreciate what you’re going through. Even if you do not feel comfortable sharing anything, just knowing you are with people who understand, can give you that sense of belonging that you may feel you have lost.

Support Line is a preventative service and aims to support people before they reach the point of crisis. Support Line is aimed at those who are socially isolated, vulnerable, at risk groups and victims of any form of abuse. Support Line will enable the caller to talk over their feelings with a helpline worker who offers non-judgmental, caring, empathic support. The helpline worker will encourage greater understanding and awareness of the caller’s issues and help the caller develop more positive coping strategies.
